Chris and Michael Sims
In 1988, while working as a real estate broker, Chris Sims saw homes being demolished and rebuilt in one of Houston’s historic neighborhoods and recognized an opportunity to help shape the city’s residential landscape. He immersed himself in residential building science and the details behind well-built custom homes, and completed his first home in West University that same year.
Michael grew up around the business and developed the same appreciation for craftsmanship, thoughtful construction, and attention to detail. From sweeping jobsites during the summers to reviewing architectural plans with his father, he gained firsthand experience in the building process from an early age. After graduating from college, Michael officially joined Sims Luxury Builders as a Construction Manager and Project Manager.
Over the years, Michael led the construction of numerous custom homes as well as the development of the Riva at the Park condominium high-rise. In 2019, he assumed leadership of Sims Luxury Builders following Chris’s retirement.
Like Houston itself, Sims Luxury Builders has grown since 1988, but we remain a close-knit family business guided by the same values on which Chris founded the company. Every member of our team shares the same goal: to build each home to the highest standard while providing a thoughtful, collaborative, and well-managed experience along the way.
