Sugar Land

Home to historic Imperial Sugar, the company that gave the city its name, Sugar Land is a “principle” city and known as the second most important city in the metropolitan area after Houston.

Sugar Land is about 20 miles southwest of Downtown Houston, centered on the junction of Texas State Highway 6 and US-59 / I-69. It’s been named as one of the Top Cities in Texas for business relocation and expansion according to Outlook Magazine and Texas Business.

The south and southeastern portions of Sugar Land are replete with master-planned communities, including all of First Colony, the largest community in the city and encompassing 10,000 acres. Golf courses, country clubs, and a wide array of other recreational activities are on tap for those who call Sugar Land home. Dotted with spacious parks, the area has an abundance of trees, lakes, and outdoor life.

Sugar Land has both recreational and competitive level sports, including the Sugar Land Skeeters, the minor league baseball team founded in 2010, and the Sugar Land Sharks, a competition swim team founded in 1967.

The people of Sugar Land have the only indoor concert hall of its kind in Greater Houston, the Smart Financial Centre. It seats 6,400 and is home to concerts, cultural events, and more. Sugar Land is also building an outdoor arts plaza near the concert hall.

Another favorite spot is the Sugar Land Town Square, the primary entertainment district in the city. A wide array of restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and shopping venues provide places to go for everyone. The public plaza is centered there, where festivals and other important events are held. You can go ice-skating or play hockey at the Sugar Land Ice and Sports Center. Every year the music festival Teenstock is held, showcasing bands from around the area.

Take a drive to see the stately Lakeview Auditorium, a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark and one of the eleven original buildings of the old school district campus.

Sugar Land also boasts the fourth largest airport within the Greater Houston Metropolitan area, handling over 250 aircraft operations a day. The airport serves both general aviation and private clientele. Access a branch of the University of Houston and three branches of the Fort Bend County Library as well as multiple parks and amenities for families to enjoy.

Lakefront Modern

This custom home was designed and built for a modern empty-nester couple who desired a visually interesting, yet practical and functional, living space. Our vision for this home was to create an open feel and layout that fit the everyday needs of the homeowners and also incorporate contemporary features throughout the exterior and interior of the home that were unique in both design and function.

Lake Pointe Contemporary

Classic Mediterranean

The design of the home was challenging as it had to conform to a triangular 2-acre site, bordered by a golf course on one side, a parking lot on another, while it fronted a major thoroughfare. The strategic use of walls, fencing, landscaping, and outdoor structures effectively created a very private setting for the home in a high-profile public location.
